When we purchased this house 4 years ago, we had BIG plans for this tiny room. But like many home projects go, something more pressing always came up. So, last year when we found out we were expecting twins, we knew we'd need to give this room a face lift and one that would allow this small space to function with multiple purposes. This room needed to act as our family tv room, and act as a guest room when needed, as well as grow into a play space for the twins. That's a whole lot of function for such a small area. So, in designing the space we knew it needed to be simple in design, allowing to make the most of every square inch.
We started by clearing out the room and taking down the drop ceiling. Doesn't it remind you of those from your school classroom days?!
From there, pine tongue and groove boards were added to the ceiling adding height and exposing the wooden joists.
The same tongue and groove boards were installed onto the walls, using the opposite side as the ceiling boards, making the planks wider.
A fresh coat of Benjamin Moore Simply White and there you go, a quick room makeover that was long overdue.
