Happy December 1st! No better way to kick off the season than decking those halls and in this case our front porch! A few key pieces, a few repurposing of the old and a couple DIYs make this space feel custom and special without breaking the bank!
The kids love this gingerbread house doormat! And for those of you looking for a holiday craft, this would be an easy DIY with a basic doormat and white paint pen!
As for garland, I’m a big fan of jazzing up basic artificial garland by layering a more ornate one on top. Above we used three strands of a long needle + eucalyptus variety , similar faux eucalyptus stems found here and would add that needed touch of texture to a garland you probably have stored away in your attic. I’m obsessed with these glitter bows…just a few dollars at craft stores and occasionally found at dollar stores. And for a bit of whimsy, I’m obsessed with colorful and oversized ornaments!!! For pinks I went with this and this set. And to keep things budget friendly, I buy XL ornaments from the dollar store / craft store /walmart then spray paint them in custom colors and of course spray paint helps refresh and renew old worn ones!
Last year I found these oversized white bulbs, currently sold out online, select stores have them stocked, click here to check availability. I simply used gold spray paint to change out the green!
Painted Plywood Triangles for whimsical trees and add in a couple kids in cozy pjs, our family favorite being these, and what you’ve got is the making of a Holiday Photo! Happy Holidays Friends!
