It’s summertime which means it’s time for outdoor gatherings and late night dining! One of the first projects we tackled at this house was making over our side yard into a functional outdoor space. We added river rock, and DIYed an easy solution to cover up the original chain link fence (you can see the post here). We used an existing table and found outdoor directors chairs for a steal at $15 each. While our chairs are no longer available, I’m always seeing cute, reasonably priced ones on amazon or wayfair.
And while our side patio has been one of the most loved and most used spaces at our home, it felt in need of a refresh. To keep things simple and cost effective, we used paint we already had, our go-to exterior white paint, Benjamin Moore Simply White. This is the same paint we used for the greenhouse and the playhouse.
Once the fence was painted, we went to work sanding our existing table, then gave it two coats of teak oil.
While we waited for the paint and teak oil to dry we headed out for a bike ride. I love summer days and evenings with my crew, enjoying the neighborhood and parks near by!
Then we returned home to set the table, light the grill, pour a glass and turn on the lights for what might be my favorite thing about summer time…dining outside with the ones you love!
