My babies are almost five! FIVE! The five longest & shortest years of my life! It’s not lost on me how much life (joy & loss) Brian and I have lived these past five years. I think it’s safe to say that who we were then, and who we are now are very different, and hopefully different for the better. I happened across this photo of me, pregnant with the twins, on the last weekend before they were born on a day trip Brian and I took to Serenbe.
I mean, my goodness!! And here we are, exactly five years later…in front of that same vine covered wall…
I am so grateful for these two and the incredibly infectious joy they bring to this world. Seeing this life through their eyes is one of the most rewarding and humbling experiences! Love their goofy ways and so grateful to celebrate these last days with my four (correction from them : four and a half) year olds! And for my own personal journaling :
Four was : Robots and Rainbows. Unicorns and Rocket Ships! Sweet tooths with cupcakes, cookies (sugar for her, chocolate chip for him) & milkshakes (cookies & cream w/ whip cream, no cherry for her, chocolate with whip & cherry for him). Self Proclaimed “BIG KIDS”. Great listeners, independent, & kind. She still shy, but found her inner confidence. He’s so silly and super sweet. Soccer & Ballet. High Fives & Thumb Wars. Holiday crazed and adventure obsessed. Gardeners, she picks flowers, he waters all the things! Hours of outdoor play in their playhouse and garden. Muddy fun in their “Dirty Home”, which is the big dirt pile we currently have. Bike Rides and Playgrounds. Swimming & the Beach. Coloring & Crafting. Their fridge art is next level. She draws hearts and photos of me and her. He scours for unique rocks to gift me. Hand holding, and lots of hugs. Bedtime consists of “just one more story”, milk cups and “one more kiss”.
Please, please, please let me never forget this wonderful world of four!!!! For right now, it’s my absolute favorite year of all <3
Love, Michelle
