Entering into this season of gratitude and I’m overwhelmed with all the wonderfully beautiful things this life provided us this last year. The most important of those being Baby B. Last year at this time, I was 8 months pregnant and unsure what our life would be like with three little ones. One year later, and I can’t imagine life without our little B. He brings so much joy, and laughter into this already rambunctious household! Starting over with a baby has felt surprisingly easy this go around. Maybe we know more what to expect, maybe B’s just that easy, and maybe our standards after three kids have lowered…lol. And to speak truth on that note, I’m finally in a space where decorating for the season is both a joyful and welcomed experience (thanks to two eager five year olds!). In wanting to commit to more family meals around the table this month, I went ahead and set a simple Thanksgiving Tablescape for us to enjoy all season long!
And with Thanksgiving being so late this year, this is the perfect decor for us to slowly start incorporating our Christmas decor…I’m talking about you Christmas Garland! No seriously…isn’t this garland amazing? And it’s faux…did I have you fooled…be honest, you thought it was fresh greenery! And truth be told, I do prefer the fresh stuff to the fake ones, but with three little ones, and quite awhile until the holidays, this stuff is my current go-to for draping all around the house! Add in these champagne colored berries to bring in an autumn tone, perfect for Thanksgiving decor!
Taper candles are all the rage…I’m sure they’re filling up your feeds as well. For so long I’ve avoided them simply due to the small people that live with us…but after finding these battery operated ones, I’m obsessed!! Unlike traditional battery candles, these give off the perfect glow and “flicker” just enough to give that warm ambiance that only candles can. The kids LOVE helping to turn them on, and they make my winter hygge dreams come true! The candle holders were a Target Dollar Spot find…$3 each…as was the green pumpkin, $5. If you’re looking for kid-friendly, or just not wanting to deal with wax drip all over the table, these candles are worth the investment!
Melamine plates and acrylic stemware are also my kid-friendly go-tos! And now, there are so many beautiful options out there that rival their breakable counterparts!
Well, there you go, a simple Thanksgiving tablescape to enjoy all season long. Now excuse me as I enjoy breakfast, lunch & dinner in the glow of battery operated candles :)
